Services

At InView Eye Care, we are pleased to offer a wide range of optometry services with the latest state-of-the-art technology to benefit our community! Our experienced optometrists can provide you with thorough eye evaluations, determine if you need corrective lenses and your exact prescription strength, fit you with the appropriate specialty eyewear, and help you pick out the most flattering pair of glasses for your face shape and skin tone.

Our new patient appointments always begin with a comprehensive eye exam. If you are unsure of your family’s eye health history, it’s helpful to research beforehand, so we can better evaluate your own eye health. If you have never had a comprehensive exam, don’t worry! All the tests and exercises are simple and painless.

Our doctors can diagnose and treat eye diseases and identify general eye health problems including diabetes, anemia, high blood pressure, and others. We can also test for and fit specialty eyewear for sports, occupations, other activities and hobbies, and safety glasses.

We can answer your questions about optometry services, our eye care practice, eye health products, and more.

Comprehensive Eye Exams

An annual comprehensive eye exam is an important part of anyone’s health care regimen. It allows us to test and maximize your vision with corrective lenses and examine the inside and back areas of your eye. A glasses prescription will be provided with each comprehensive eye exam.

Pediatric Eye Exams

Childhood is an important time in eye development. During a pediatric eye exam, we will provide a comprehensive exam and may use special hand-held tools and lenses to evaluate each child’s prescription, check eye health, and rule out potential problems such as strabismus (eye turn) or amblyopia (lazy eye).

Contact Lens Evaluations

Contact lenses are a great option for anyone who needs nearsighted, farsighted, astigmatic, or multifocal correction. They offer an alternative for people who feel restricted by eyeglasses. There are many types of contact lens options with different materials, length of wear, frequency of disposal, lens design, and additional features, such as color.

Telehealth

Telehealth allows you to connect with one of our optometric physicians through a video meeting. Telehealth appointments requires a secure internet connection and a device (smartphone, tablet, computer) with a camera. Please call our office if you’re interested in scheduling a telehealth appointment.

Urgent Care

Our optometrists can help relieve red eye, pink eye, sore eyes, foreign body removal, and other eye emergencies

Dry Eye Treatment

Dry eye is a common problem with many individuals. Our natural tears help moisturize the surface of the eye, and without them, mild to severe irritation and inflammation is very common. Our doctors are experts at finding the source of dry eyes and providing treatments to alleviate the symptoms and prevent the progression of the condition.

Amniotic Membrane Treatment

Amniotic membranes are harvested in a sterile environment from placental tissue. When placed on the eye, it acts as a tissue bandage for cornea infections, ulcers and can also be used for the reconstruction of conjunctiva surface. Further, it provides an anti-inflammatory and anti-scarring effect which improves visual outcome once the area is healed.

iLux Treatment for Dry Eye

Dry eye disease is a chronic disease that affects millions of people worldwide. Most cases of dry eye disease is caused by Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD). Meibomian glands are in your eyelids and secrete oils that create a protective film over your tears. Patients with MGD do not produce enough oil that creates the protective tear film, thus allowing for tears to evaporate. The newest dry eye treatment technology, iLux, is a handheld device that uses light source heating and compression intended to help your Meibomian glands express oils to protect your tears. iLux is the only handheld FDA approved treatment for MGD uniquely designed to customize treatments for each patient. Patients describe the treatment as a “warm eye massage” that lasts about 8 minutes, and typically eases symptoms for 6-8 months. In order to assess if iLux is right for you, your eye care professional will perform diagnostic tests to evaluate your gland health. A recent clinical study had similar outcomes with the iLux and the TearScience Lipiflow. However, the price paid by patients for iLux handheld treatments will be roughly one-third of the price paid by patients for LipiFlow.

Keratoconus, Difficult to Fit and Medically Necessary Contact Lenses

Keratoconus is a condition in which the normally round cornea thins and begins to bulge into a cone-like shape. As the condition progresses, it can cause nearsightedness and irregular astigmatism to occur. Using our state-of-the-art technology, we are able to diagnose keratoconus and get you fitted with contact lenses specially designed for irregular corneas.

Myopia Control and Ortho-K

If your child has myopia (nearsightedness), you’re probably wondering if something can be done to slow its progression so your child doesn’t need stronger glasses year after year. Slowing the progression of myopia may keep your child from developing high levels of nearsightedness that require thick, corrective eyeglasses and have been associated with an increased risk of retinal detachment, glaucoma, myopic degeneration, and early cataracts. Orthokeratology (Ortho-K) is the use of specially designed contact lenses that are worn during sleep to temporarily correct nearsightedness. Evidence suggests that nearsighted kids who undergo several years of ortho-k may end up with less myopia as adults, compared with children who wear eyeglasses or regular contact lenses during the peak years for myopia progression.

Diagnosis and Management of Eye Diseases

The eye gives us a good picture of the overall health of the whole body. Routine dilation allows us to see the back of the eye, called the retina, which gives us clues on systemic diseases, such as diabetes and high blood pressure. Many diseases can be diagnosed and treated from examining the eye, including glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration.

Cataract Screening

A cataract is the clouding or yellowing of the natural lens in the eye. These opacities develop over time and may affect your best corrected vision. When the vision is moderately compromised, the best treatment is to remove the natural lens and replace it with an artificial lens during a procedure called cataract surgery. We are happy to co-manage any cataract surgeries at InView Eye Care.

Diabetic Eye Care

Diabetes is a vascular disease that directly affects the small- and medium-sized blood vessels in our body. Blood and/or protein can leak out of the essential blood vessels in the back of the eye. Also, if the blood vessels are too damaged to deliver adequate oxygen into the retina, severe hemorrhaging, retinal detachment, and irreversable vision loss may occur. It is important for all diabetics to receive an annual dilated eye examination.

Glaucoma Screening and Treatment

Glaucoma is a disease of the optic nerve that leads to peripheral vision loss and eventual blindness. Due to the lack of pain and initial symptoms, glaucoma can go undiagnosed for years without a comprehensive eye examination. Elevated intraocular pressure is a major risk factor for glaucoma and should be measured yearly in all adults. Early detection and treatment is key for controlling and minimizing the impact of this disease process.

Refractive Eye Surgery Consultations

If you’re ready for an alternative to glasses and/or contacts, refractive surgery, such as LASIK, may be the right solution for you. We are happy to co-manage those surgeries with our local refractive surgeons.
